What is Chemical Oxygen Demand - COD

Aug 02, 2016

In environmental chemistry, the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) test is commonly used to indirectly measure the amount of compounds in water. Most applications of COD determine the amount of organic pollutants found in surface water (e.g., lakes and rivers), or wastewater, making COD a useful measure of water quality. It is expressed in milligrams per liter (mg/L), which indicates the mass of oxygen consumed per liter section. Older references may express the units as parts per million (ppm).

ALAR's technology significantly reduces Chemical Oxygen Demand for safe discharge into the city water.

pH - Acidity or Alkalinity in Water:

The acidity or alkalinity of wastewater affects both treatment and the environment. Low pH indicates increasing acidity, while high pH indicates increasing alkalinity (a pH of 7 is neutral).

ALAR's technology can monitor and adjust pH levels for treatment or discharge purposes.
